Tour Details

Come and explore the lovely seaside town of Swanage with Eastleigh Coach Trips, found in the county of Dorset. Leave the hassle of driving and finding somewhere to park to our coach driver. It is at the eastern end of the Isle of Purbeck and one of its two towns, approximately 6+1⁄4 miles south of Poole and 25 miles east of Dorchester.

Ride a steam train through the countryside to this seaside resort, walk along the Victorian pier and gaze out over Swanage Bay from Durlston Castle. The gently sloping, golden sand and clear water are just some of the great reasons that Swanage Beach has been awarded a Blue Flag and Seaside Award. Take a day cruise from Swanage Pier to Poole Quay with Coastal Cruises for a scenic tour of the Jurassic Coast and Old Harry Rocks along the way.

What to Expect

An elegant southern English and Victorian seaside town full of traditional heritage, contemporary culture, green spaces and a few surprises.

Uncover the story of Swanage at Swanage Museum - from dinosaurs and the Jurassic Coast to seaside resort, stone trade and the Second World War. No visit to Swanage is complete without walking a stretch of the Jurassic Coast. Recognised by UNESCO for its outstanding geology, the coastline is part of England’s only natural World Heritage Site. Along the way, you'll get to see spectacular geological features such as Old Harry Rocks.

Take a trip through time on the Isle of Purbeck’s heritage railway. Let a lovingly-restored steam train take you on an unforgettable journey along the foot of the Purbeck Hills and through the picturesque countryside surrounding Swanage. The heritage railway attraction operates full-size steam and diesel passenger trains along the five and a half miles of line from Norden to Corfe Castle and down to the Victorian seaside town of Swanage.

One of the things that lures visitors back to Swanage and Purbeck year after year is the variety of great places to eat and drink. Grab a meal at a beach-side café, go traditional with fish & chips for lunch, and dine in style at one of the area’s top-rated restaurants or pubs.
